Just early last week, I visited my brother, his wife, and two kids in Georgia. While I was there, my sister-in-law introduced me to the hair and skin products she has been making. I was already familiar with her homemade skin creations. But I have never used her hair products until now. I’ve recently used her Natural Rock’N Hair & Body Beauty Co. Moroccan Rhassoul Clay and Cacoa Mask and Hibiscus Isle Decadent Hair Oil. The natural, easy-to-understand ingredients in both products are effective in keeping my hair soft.
Before I describe to you how both of these products make my hair feel, let me share with you what’s in them. The Clay and Cacoa Mask contain only two ingredients- rhassoul clay and organic raw cacao. While the Decadent Hair Oil has a citrus pink grapefruit scent that is perfect for all hair types. Some of its star ingredients include hibiscus, apricot, and Hawaiian kukui. Several of these ingredients like hibiscus are great in preventing hair loss and alleviating an itchy scalp.
I do appreciate the real natural ingredients in these products and not a rubber like silicone or potentially harmful oils like petroleum. Unfortunately, these are dominant in ethnic hair care products.
Softens and Moisturizes my Hair
The Clay Mask is meant to be a detoxing hair product. The cocoa smell reminds you of hot cocoa on a winter night. You first start by wetting your hair before using it. Then you mix 1-3 scoops of it with water. Once it’s well mixed into a pudding-like consistency, you can start applying it your damp hair. Be sure you’re covering your hair with this mask from root to end. Cover your hair with a plastic shower cap for at least 20 minutes. After enough time has elapsed, it’s time to head back to the sink and wash this out. I had it in for an hour and washed it out.
You can apply the hair oil with water and shea butter for extra shine and moisture to your hair and scalp. As I was applying this while parting my hair, I did notice a lot of shininess throughout. I love how light the oil is. Both products made my hair soft, moisturized, and a little thicker.
