Improving your Quality of Sleep during this Pandemic

Because we’re all going through stressful times right now, many people, including myself, have been having some problems sleeping at night.  This could be due to stress or just other reasons.  But there are ways you can still get your daily 8 hours of sleep even during these difficult times.  Here are four ways we could rest easy during this period.

Set a new Schedule and Routine for yourself

This pandemic crisis has caused millions of Americans to lose their jobs.  As a result of losing their jobs, they began to lose their usual routine.  Now that you’re at home more, try developing a new schedule and routine for yourself.  Set a specific time to wake up every day and to go to bed.  Because of the stress that the coronavirus pandemic ensues, it would be helpful to allow yourself extra time to wind down each night.  You could also set meal schedules for yourself each day.

You could sleep well during these difficult times

Keep a steady diet

Now that many of us are at home more, it could become so easy to succumb to eating more.  That’s why it’s important we discipline ourselves to control what we eat and drink.  During this pandemic, I know that is considered to be easier said than done.  Now more than ever!  But what you’re putting in your body has a huge effect on your sleeping.  By being balanced in this area, you will likely be having a good night’s sleep.

Consider relaxation techniques

If you find yourself struggling to sleep, it may be a good idea to adopt some relaxation techniques.  Reading a good book, deep breathing or just listening to some calming music are all good examples of these techniques.  Try to avoid watching the news all the time.  Turn the TV off and dive into a relaxation technique that helps you go to sleep.

Reduce the amount of screen time

If you want to get some quality sleep, you have to set some limits on how long you use your phone at night.  We all have this as a habit.  Fishing on something on social media and to our surprise, it’s 10:00 at night.  It takes discipline to put the phone down when it becomes late at night.  But you have to do it if you want to get some good, quality sleep

Sleeping during this period in time is truly difficult.  But if we follow these quick tips, we will all obtain that quality sleep that we desperately need.  Have some other tips for getting some good sleep during these difficult times?  Leave them at the comments box and be sure to like and share this post.
