Four tips to banish bloating in your belly

A lot of us have experienced this. By this, I mean that invisible donut around our midsection of our stomachs. This stomach condition is called bloating.  This condition occurs when your belly starts to be filled with air sometimes due to some specific foods you’re eating. However, it could occur for other reasons too. Here are some of the foods and ways you could develop that bloating feeling in your stomach.

One great way to develop bloating in your belly is eating too fast.  It is very vital that we take our time when eating.  When you eat too quickly, you are not only swallowing food, you are swallowing air as well.  Eating fast means that you are not allowing time for larger pieces to digest. This leads to uncomfortable bloating.  This has been an unfortunate habit of mine and I will see to it in breaking this habit.

Another way to develop bloating is drinking your beverage through a straw.  It may help you drink it in a timely, efficient manner.  However, drinking from a straw could force you to not only suck in the liquid but excess air as well.  Even if you sip slowly, the excess air will still be ingested.  Try drinking from the rim of a glass. That will keep you from uncomfortable bloating.

Everybody knows that processed foods aren’t good for you due to their sodium content.  A bloated belly is a direct result of too much sodium from these foods.  So instead of grabbing a bag of potato chips for lunch, why not opt for an apple or banana instead?  It will do your body good.

No surprise here, but another food that could cause bloating is beans.  While they are a great source of protein and fiber, their high carbohydrate content is what causes gas and bloat after consumption.  So instead of ditching them altogether, try taking an over-the-counter anti-gas tablet to avoid the bloating beans could cause.

Bloating in your stomach is an uncomfortable, unfortunate feeling.  But it could be controlled by taking your time when you eat, drinking from a cup instead of a straw, cutting down on processed foods or taking something before enjoying those beans.  Want more tips on avoiding bloating?  Check out the article, “Bloated All the Time? 11 Reasons Why” on www.healthiguide.com.
