6 Items You Must Have in your Mani-Pedi Care Routine

It’s vital for us women to keep our beauty care in order. This involves our skin care, hair care, and make-up, just to name a few. However, our hands and feet need some quality attention, too. Getting an occasional manicure/pedicure, or mani-pedi, is essential in keeping them healthy and attractive. But if you’re looking to save your money and do this at home yourself, here are the top six must-haves for a great at-home mani-pedi.

Every women must have these items for a nice at-home mani-pedi.

Solid Foot & Nail File

Having a solid nail file is important for hand and foot care. These items are important in keeping your nails well-shaped. Some foot files work wonders in removing that dead cracked skin and keeping the edges of your nails smooth. Multi-way nail files, which are also used for buffing and shining, are also easy to find in stores. Nail files could come in either emery board, metal form, or glass. I like to buy a couple of these at a Family Dollar or another Dollar store near me.

Clean Nail Cutter

If your nails need a little trim, a nail cutter or clipper is needed in keeping them down to a manageable length. Trimming your nails is also important in keeping them healthy. Keeping your nail cutter clean is essential to having a safe at-home mani-pedi. Be sure to don’t trim too much or else you would be getting close to the nail bed. You’ll start to develop an infection after exposing the sensitive part of your nails.

Bubbly Foot Spa

Of course, you have to give your feet and hands a nice little soak. That’s why you got to invest in a quality at-home foot spa. One that is popular in particular is the ConAir foot spa which happens to have a heating/vibrating massage. This is equipped to keep the water warm while you soak your tired puppies after a long day at work. You’ll feel like you’re at the salon with this foot spa.

Pumice Stone

If you don’t have a foot file that’s good for removing calluses, a pumice stone will be just as good. These stones remove the outermost layer of dead skin and calluses. It’s easier than ever to find one at your local beauty supply store. Just soak your feet in warm water for several minutes. Once they have softened, wet the pumice stone and start scrubbing that dead skin off your feet.

Cuticle Oil

Keeping your cuticles healthy is also part of hand and foot maintenance. Having a good cuticle oil on hand will help keep them smooth and moisturized. Reduce your risk of hangnails and put a small amount on each of your cuticles at the end of your mani-pedi. Good cuticle oil helps in promoting the healthy growth of your nails.

Base Coat & Top Coat

Before you put your favorite coat of nail polish, you must slip on some base coat on your nails and toenails. A good base coat protects them from the damage nail polish can ensue. It can prevent your nails from becoming brittle. A clear top coat polish provides the finishing touches to your nails and prevents your polish from chipping and fading. Your nails will exude a long-lasting shine after applying this polish.
