4 Ways You can Improve your Exercise Routine

Have you started exercising regularly but lately, have been falling off the wagon? Have you all of a sudden no longer been having the same enthusiasm for fitness as you used to do? If this is you, you probably might have to find a way to rejuvenate your exercise routine.

Don’t feel too bad. I might need a little help with this myself. No need to worry because here are 4 ways you can improve your exercise routine and get out of the fitness slump.

Get back in the exercise routine with these 4 tips.

Change your Routine

One good way to get back on track with exercising is to change your approach to it. Try starting slow and increasing your training intensity over time. This could involve increasing the number of repetitions you perform or increasing the amount of weight. Put together this month-by-month schedule to keep your strength training workout fresh. Work on your upper and lower body with 15-20 reps. Be sure to don’t overuse any single muscle group. Work on specific body areas, like your legs, with 3-5 sets of 6-12 reps.

Settle for Average during a Workout

When trying to get back on the exercise train, remember that it’s okay to have an average workout. Don’t try to put too much pressure on yourself to have a high-intensity workout and you haven’t done it in a while. This could cause muscle injuries or further strain on your body. Remember that your body has limits so it wouldn’t be wise to overdo it on your workout. Above all, it’s always good to find a routine that works for you and stick with it.

Do Away with the Excuses

When it comes to exercising, we all tend to come up with excuses. One of my excuses is, “I’m too busy.” Some other excuses most people have are, “I’m too tired,” “I’m too old,” or “I hate exercising.” How can you do away with these excuses? How about trying to make exercise simple?

If you’re too busy to exercise, you can still make time for it. You can still be effective in 5-15 minutes of walking up and down the steps. Another good idea is taking a few minutes or so to walk around a park near you. If you hate exercising, try to find an activity that you enjoy. Doing some of these things will help you to do away with excuses.

Retrain your Metabolism

You also might need to retrain your metabolism by eating fewer calories and exercising. If you just eat fewer calories and don’t exercise, your body will start to no longer need any energy. By combining both of these habits, your metabolism will eventually catch up to these good habits. You’ll also start to lose weight again.

Getting back into an exercise rhythm requires effort and patience. But if you follow these four tips, you could soon find yourself on the road to a healthy routine.
